From life-simplifying technology to top-tier safety systems, it’s clear that Hyundai leaves no mom behind! And, what do you know? With Mother’s Day around the bend and a horde of great lease offers out there, now’s the perfect time to shop Hyundai. Here are a few of the top mom-friendly features you’ll find in the new Hyundai SUVs and cars.
Hands-Free Smart Liftgate with Auto Open
For the mom whose hands are always full.
Like magic, Hyundai’s hands-free liftgate automatically opens when Mom needs it most. The law of Occam’s razor would lead us to believe that the Hands-Free Smart Liftgate probably functions via a sensor that detects the vehicle’s owner standing behind the cargo area. But magic sounds cooler. So, David Blaine, eat your heart out. (That’s just an expression; please don’t eat your actual heart, Mr. Blaine.)Continue reading “The Best Hyundai Features For Every Type Of Mom”
Major auto manufacturers are eager to tout the latest safety features that they’ve integrated into their newest models. But diligently comparing these different features and deciding which is best – well, that can be undoubtedly confusing.
Two of the automakers best known for safety, Hyundai and Honda, have their own names for their safety suites. Hyundai calls theirs “SmartSense” while Honda dubs theirs “Honda Sensing®.” These safety systems have helped both manufacturers make the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) list of Top Safety Picks each year. Let’s run down the benefits of each and compare SmartSense to Sensing, so you can choose the safest vehicle for you and your family.
1. Hyundai’s Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist vs. Honda’s Collision Mitigation Braking System™
Both of these systems are similar: Forward-facing cameras and radars detect obstacles in front of your vehicle and how quickly you are approaching them. First, each system sounds a warning; then, if slowing doesn’t begin, the car automatically begins to brake. Data from IIHS reports that these collision avoidance systems reduce rear-end accidents by 27%.Continue reading “Hyundai SmartSense vs. Honda Sensing: Compare Car Safety Systems”
Maybe you think you spend a lot of time behind the wheel. You probably can’t compare to Kansas delivery driver Farrah Haines, who recently notched a cool 1 million miles on the original drivetrain of her 2013 Hyundai Elantra.
“Reaching one million miles with the original powertrain in just five years is an extremely rare and incredible achievement,” explained Hyundai Motor America’s CMO, Dean Evans.
Not many drivers put the kind of stress on their vehicles that Haines, who delivers auto parts around the Midwest, does. In fact, Consumer Reports has a popular article on how to maintain your car so it will run reliably to 200,000 miles — just one-fifth of the distance that Haines coaxed out of her trusty Elantra.
“My Hyundai has been a great car to me,” Haines said. “Over the years I have been beyond pleased at my car’s performance, a quality that is inherent to the Hyundai brand.”Continue reading “Driving 1 Million Miles: Anything’s Possible With Hyundai”
This year, Hyundai managed an incredible feat at the Detroit Auto Show, scoring two of three awards for best car and SUV in America. In the 25 years that the NAIAS has been happening, a single manufacturer winning more than one yearly award has only been accomplished 5 times. The South Korean auto manufacturer deserves some major kudos for this achievement.
But what vehicles won, you ask? The Hyundai Genesis G70 beat out the Honda Insight and the Volvo S60/V60 to become the Best Car in America. The Hyundai Kona and Kona EV swept away the competition for Best Utility Vehicle in America, beating out both Jaguar’s I-Pace and Acura’s RDX.Continue reading “Hyundai Wins Two 2019 NAIAS Awards”
As that old tune from the ’60s so rightly observed, “the times, they are a-changing,” with electric and hybrid vehicles becoming a more common sight on America’s highways and byways. That said, many electric vehicles aren’t exactly known for their prowess on the road. Enter the 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric, which aims to change that perception in ways that just might surprise you.Continue reading “Meet The 2019 Hyundai Kona EV & Kona SUV”
